Enjoy Winter Fun at Lowell Winterfest!

Celebrate Winter at Lowell Winterfest this weekend!  This annual festival includes all kinds of fun, including kids activities, kids shows, music and a winter market.  A perfect way to end school vacation week!  Opening Ceremonies take place at 6 PM on Friday February 21 at 222 Merrimack St with live music and an appearance by Lowla Bear, the Winterfest mascot.

2025 Attractions:

MUSIC:  A variety of bands will perform in the Enterprise Bank Music Tent at 222 Merrimack Street on Friday evening from 6:15 to 8:45 PM and on Saturday from 12 to 8:45 PM.  See the performance schedule.

FOOD VENDORS:  Food trucks will be set up on Middle Street across from Enterprise Bank.

ENTERTAINMENT: Enjoy a Silent Disco on Saturday from 12-3 PM, Cirque de Light performances from 3-7 PM, and DJ music from 7-10 PM on Saturday evening at Derby Park, 70 Middle St. See the schedule.

ART MARKET:  Stop into the Experience Lowell Arts Market inside the Enterprise Bank Arts Tent at 222 Merrimack St on Friday evening from 6-9 PM and on Saturday afternoon from 12-7 PM to shop from dozens of artisans and crafters.

SCAVENGER HUNT: Get the whole family involved in the Winterfest Scavenger Hunt! Download the Goosechase app and follow the scavenger hunt instructions to compete. Register soon -- a limited number of teams and individual spots are available!

FIRE & ICE SCULPTURES: See fire and ice sculptures on Palmer St on Friday evening and Saturday.

SOUP COMPETITION: The annual Richard Rourke Memorial Soup Competition takes place on Saturday February 22 from 12-2:30 PM in the Lowell Masonic Center, 79 Dutton St. Local restaurants and organizations serve delicious soups and chowders. Try them all and vote for your favorite!  Tickets are $5 each and are available at the door.  See this year's list of competitors and the soups they will be serving

CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL: St. Anne's Episcopal Church at 8 Kirk St is holding their annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday, February 22, from 11 AM to 4 PM. $10 admission for all the chocolate you can eat. Kids age 4-11 are $5, under 4 are free with a paying adult.

General admission to Lowell's Winterfest is FREE. 

Admission to special events as follows:

  • Soup Competition: $5 per person. Tickets available day-of only.
  • Chocolate Festival: $10 per adult, $5 per child age 4-11, child under 4 free with paying adult.
